Dubya Impeachment Poll

Well, you may not actually see it first here, but you do see it. I got this graph from the Daily Kos site. If you take the poll yourself, you too can get to see some interesting results. Now, obviously, this is not considered a scientific poll. And, the readers of Daily Kos are resoundingly democratic and left leaning individuals. But, what this poll illustrates is that we democratic, left-leaning individuals have some serious work to do to take the Congress back from the bushevik neocon deathcult, death mongering, lowlife cockroaches. So, GET BUSY! Get out there and work to get as many revolting, disgusting republicans out of there. Goddamm, I hate the neocon republicans.

Hi Dawg!

At work, a lot of the young people voted for Bush, which dismayed us older, wiser liberals: what kind of young people *were* these? They had long hair, wore hemp clothing.... and voted for *Bush*?? They claimed it was because of 9/11. I scan their faces now, looking for signs of remorse or guilt. Or embarrassment. Nothing so far. In my universe, support for Bush continues.

The poll does have a weak link, 75% say impeachment would only happen if Democrats retake Congress. That's probably true. Still, if even one house goes Democratic or just "neutral," hearings on a host of issues could happen. That's what happened to Nixon.

Mike, that's true, and admittedly, the poll is very weak. I'm just trying to make a point with some hyperbole.

As for Nixon, he never did get impeached, obviously, and ended up just resigning. I guess he figured that he had a better chance by affirmatively cutting his losses rather than risk impeachment. Is it true that an impeached and convicted president and/or VP cannot be pardoned ever? I heard that, but cannot find it. I also heard that Nixon resigned specifically for this reason.

Nina, in my "organization" there is a much better sense of environmental ethics, so it is predominantly left/democratic leaning. However, the law enforcement end of it is very militaristic, and therefore leans with the neocons. They are definitely the minority. Interesting split, really.
